回覆刪除just passed by. I also took philosophy class at Cal too around that time. I had a Chinese Grad student TA before in Barry Stroud class/Philosophy of knowledge. Was that you??
lifeword,
I was Stroud's TA once for that class, and I was the only Chinese graduate student back then. So it's probably me. Is your last name Tang?
Yes. My last name is Tang. You were the only Chinese/HK people in the dept and a TA who liked Janecek.
Your book list first caught my eyes because 3/10 are written by professors from Berkeley.
Glad to know that you enjoy philosophy/teaching it. Searle once said that doing analytical philosophy was like banging one's head against a brick wall, every day, non stop, until it breaks, and bang again..
Keep up your good work. Good philosophers are guardians of the mind.

lifeworld,
I remember you took a summer class by Scheffler rather than Stroud's epistemology, but I guess I should not trust my memory.
Did you mean the composer Janáček? I do like his music.
Yes and No. I took both.
Yes. Janáček. It should be more popular now since 1Q84.
lifeworld,
I actually like most of the composers and musicians Haruki Murakami likes!
The Nature of Mind,or something like that,已忘了教授的名字。
教nature of mind的,應該是John Searle了。
可恨對他的講課也沒有甚麽印像(which is quite typical of the classes I attended that got hundreds of students)。
