李雲迪是在用十隻手指彈琴 --他的十隻手指尖似乎能夠分別表達出不同的情感和力度,換句話說,李雲迪能夠把不同的情感分別傳遞到十隻不同的手指尖,使他能夠令鋼琴表現出極為豐富的情感,令聽者陶醉;

I have to share this with you Prof.
On Lang Lang-- "[he] feels the music at you, in ways both good and bad. He advertises his love of performing simply by the way he charges onstage, and he creates a giddy atmosphere as he negotiates hairpin turns at high speed. Stereotypes to the contrary, you wish at times that he were a little more impersonal. He tends to impose his ebullience on the music, whether or not the music demands it."
On Yundi Li -- "is a cooler presence. His playing is refined, almost severe. … he’s a more naturally poetic soul than Lang Lang."

My opinion is the preferences of performer is a matter of taste, and highly reflective of the listener's personality. It readily depends on what the listener wants to get out of the music and performer.
For example, some loves buying and carrying tacky luxury- monogramed branded handbags while others enjoy craftsmen made DIY totes.
Speaking as purist, performing Bach in a Romantic showy way (stylistically speaking) is simply wrong.
You like any avant-garde stuff (e.g. Ballet Mécanique) from the early 20th century?

Thanks for the information.
刪除As for avant-garde music, my taste is rather limited. I sort of like Webern and Berio.
Ballet Mecanique will surely induce pounding headaches on Mr. 神洲. ;)

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7JLvbXGoicw
I chatted with my husband, who is a professional musician, about this. He said he had played with lesser-known pianists in some regional venues, and in his opinions, some of whom are just as good as the better known ones. He said at that level, the skill differences are minor, and he doubts if most people can actually tell one from another. And with so many pianists out there, there isn't very much room left for new interpretation of a piece - everything has been done already.
On another note, my husband has been complaining about classical music becoming more about packaging, just like pop music, where pictures of the young pretty women boost sales.
Anyway, my husband tends to have a very pessimistic outlook on classical music.
I totally agree with your husband!
